Improving Our Mindset With Pen & Paper
Sometimes we can be too busy to acknowledge how we really feel about certain situations. Or we can mask how we feel with comfort eating, drinking alcohol, or keeping super busy so we don’t have the time to think.
Journalling can help to move you through a tricky situation and help combat the ‘mind monkeys’ (unhelpful thoughts).
Journalling can be simply writing down how you feel about a certain situation and then it may be helpful to write down how you would like to feel about it. This creates a positive compass for navigating through it.
It is a great way to order your thoughts, take out some of the emotion and work through them in a structured way. It is also a lovely way to give yourself time and acknowledge how you really feel. Some of your thoughts may surprise you, but will help you move forward.
You could have a special notepad for journalling or use a piece of paper that you rip up afterwards. You could use your laptop or phone. Whatever works for you is the right way.
I keep meaning to give journalling a go. Spotted this post which is obviously my sign from the universe x
A sign for sure! It’s so good when that happens. I hope you find journalling helpful x
