Being in the moment…….

Being in the moment sounds like something that should be so simple to do. How difficult can it be? We are always in a moment aren’t we?! Having our body and our thoughts/consciousness in the same place at the same time is the challenge.

We all have so many things to think of and remember. Thoughts about something that happened earlier whilst planning for something in the future.

Being in the moment is also referred to as feeling grounded. Here are some descriptions from the internet of what being grounded is/feels like:

‘Mentally and emotionally stable’

‘Floating between the clouds and you are free’

‘Calm and alive’

‘Admirably sensible’ (my favourite description!)

There are a number of ways to achieve this feeling:

Going out in nature

Breathing exercises

Meeting a friend for a catch-up

Walking bare foot in the grass

Doing a hobby that you love

Many people who have Reflexology have the treatment to achieve this feeling.  They report that they ‘float’ out of the treatment room and feel like their thoughts and feelings are all filed in a sensible order.  This is how Reflexology helps me to feel too.

I wish you a lovely day and hope you get the chance to do something today that helps you to feel grounded.
